Scott+ Gina Wedding

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you for the first time and for always, Mr. and Mrs. Scooter… I mean Krogh!

Valentine’s Day was the perfect day to celebrate this lovely couple and unite them in marriage. With 38 people in the bridal party AND a banquet hall full of loved ones, the Racine Moose Lodge was bursting with joy for Scott and Gina and their beautiful love story. The bride and groom and their bridal party entourage danced down the aisle to Grease’s, You’re the One That I Want, to kick off the celebration for the newlyweds.

Enjoy a few excerpts from their ceremony below.

Today, in the presence of these witnesses, Scott and Gina, along with their children, are ready to be united as one family. Their roads were always meant to lead here, to this blessed day where they will become husband and wife. We just heard such a meaningful song for this couple, Bless the Broken Road, and the lyrics are powerfully accurate. You each were lost a time or two, and the signs along the way didn’t always make sense; but every single heart ache, stumble, and seemingly wrong turn was in fact a straight path into each other’s loving arms. There was a grander plan in the works, and now everything that came before makes more sense, because everything going forward will be appreciated to the depths of your souls.

Scott and Gina met in 2009 at a training conference where their career paths collided. Over the course of several years, Scott and Gina developed a close friendship while attending these annual events. After Scott’s retirement in 2017, work-related training was no longer a touch point for these two to keep in contact, and their paths bumped into each other only minimally. It wasn’t until 2024 when Gina moved to the Milwaukee area to be closer to family, that Scott and Gina began to catch up on each other’s lives.

They quickly realized that there was much more to their friendship. Their first quick lunch meeting after all those years apart lasted 13 hours! It wasn’t rocket science, but it was chemistry…and fate. They were meant to be together. When Scott bought Gina a 2-year Moose membership, Gina told some friends, “I think that is a Scooter marriage proposal!”

Gina said, “Scott’s love, protection, kindness, honesty, and friendship make me feel home and safe in way I had only wished existed. I feel eternally blessed to have received the gift of Scott’s love. I will live out my days protecting and honoring him, forever being grateful for all that he is.”

Scott said, “Gina is the love of my life, and the sweetest, kindest, and most thoughtful “person” (not just woman, I mean anybody) I have ever met. My love for Gina is unquestionably a forever love. With her, I am the happiest version of myself, and I am so grateful to have found true love and best friendship with her. Whatever the world throws at us, we will endure. We are a forever team.”

Scott and Gina have experienced some confirmation of their relationship from their deceased parents. Scott lovingly calls Gina his “Gina Girl,” something that Gina only ever heard from her father, Bill, who passed away. The first time Scott called her that, unaware of the sentiment, Gina teared up, knowing it was a sign from her dad.

Scott’s mother, Sandra, who passed away, has also played a heavenly part in bringing this couple together. Scott had a vision of his mother pointing at him and saying, “Now that I’ve brought her to you, you better take care of her!” Scott finds Gina staring at him with an unconditional adoration the exact way his mother used to look at him. They consider themselves a match made in heaven.

It did take a while to get here, to this moment that starts your forever, but now you have a beautiful- near magical- shared wisdom and truth. Your love is remarkably precious, and this poem touches upon this sentiment:

A soul mate is someone who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks. When we feel safe enough to open the locks, our truest selves step out and we can be completely and honestly who we are; we can be loved for who we are and not for who we’re pretending to be. Each unveils the best part of the other. No matter what else goes wrong around us, with that one person we’re safe in our own paradise. Our soul mate is someone who shares our deepest longings, our sense of direction. Our soul mate is the one who makes life come to life. -A BRIDGE ACROSS FOREVER by Richard Bach

Scott and Gina, soul mates you are…your singular broken roads have merged, and there is now solid ground that was always designed just for you two to walk side by side and journey onward together.

Vows

Do you, Scott and Gina, vow to take the other for all they are today and all they are yet to become? I do.

Scott and Gina, do you promise to spend your days loving and supporting each other with kindness, respect, and appreciation? I do.

Do you promise to have faith in your love for each other through all your years together and all that life may bring you? I do.

~~~
As Scott and Gina always say to each other, “Kiss me you fool!”
Cheers to Scott and Gina and a lifetime of love!
