Medin Wedding

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you for always: Mr. & Mrs. Medin!

On a sun-drenched Saturday in July, Jeff and Erin celebrated their love and secured their union on the picturesque grounds of an historic farm. The Barn at Wagon Wheel Farm provided guests with gorgeous views, rustic charm, and modern elegance for a day of celebration. The serene outdoor ceremony was followed by a magical evening of fun on the farm with family and friends. The live band could be enjoyed inside and out as guests embraced all that the country estate had to offer. The summer heat was intense, but the love and joy radiating from the bride and groom was stronger. It was a wonderful blessing to have helped Jeff and Erin celebrate their unique love story and their celebration of love!

There is nothing greater in this world than finding the people with whom we feel safe, secure, and most ourselves. We search to find the person most accepting of our flaws; even the ones we try not to show until at least the 5th date. We search to find the person most encouraging of our dreams. Most of all, we search to find the person who loves us so unconditionally we simply can’t do anything but believe it.

Erin and Jeff’s search for love went digital, and in 2018 they met through a dating app. The relationship flowed naturally and love for each other grew with ease. Their togetherness was solidified with their love for travel and their priorities for family. Ever grateful that their profiles aligned, Erin and Jeff can go forth on their journey together with the confidence that their search was successful.

This worldly couple has journeyed together from Colorado to Florida to Ireland to their 2019 engagement in Amsterdam. They have navigated parenthood and welcomed their son, Conor, into the world in 2020. They have ventured into the realm of homeownership together. They survived the pandemic-induced yearlong postponement of their original wedding plans and new work-from-home routines. They have solidified their bond through life’s trials and are committed to continue to do so. They believe in their love, as do all of us gathered today to witness their marriage.

Together with Conor, they have formed a blessed family, and with God’s grace a sacred union.

Apache Wedding Blessing written by Elliott Arnold

Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter to the other. Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other. Now there is no more loneliness, for each of you will be companion to the other. Now you are two bodies, but there is one life before you. Go now to your dwelling place, to enter into the days of your togetherness. And may your days be good and long upon the earth.

Reading by Irish poet, Thomas Moore

Oh, call it by some better name,
For Friendship sounds too cold,
While Love is now a worldly flame,
Whose shrine must be of gold:
And Passion, like the sun at noon,
That burns o’er all he sees,
Awhile as warm will set as soon–
Then call it none of these.

Imagine something purer far,
More free from stain of clay
Than Friendship, Love, or Passion are,
Yet human, still as they:
And if thy lip, for love like this,
No mortal word can frame,
Go, ask of angels what it is,
And call it by that name!

Vows

(Jeff) Erin, I take you as you are, loving who you are now and who you are yet to become. I promise to appreciate you, to grow with you, and to be supportive of you when our life and love seem simple and when our life and love require more effort. I will cherish you always. I will love you and have faith in your love for me, through all our years together and all that life may bring us.

The love Jeff and Erin share is a beautiful blessing. May their love grow and through strength, unity, and time be a blessing not only onto themselves but onto their families and the world around them. Help them, Lord, to stay connected in any adversity and to treasure and protect their marriage. May we, as their family and friends, commit to uphold and encourage them to the best of our ability. May we express abundant thankfulness for our friendships, our health, and our precious time. Please bless this food we are about to receive, and let this reception be a treasured experience that this couple holds in their hearts forever. Amen.
