Kianna Collins, Celebration of Life, Memorial, Funeral Celebrant

Kianna Maiesha Collins

August 20th, 1994 – May 17th, 2026

*Author’s Note: The following excerpts in our “Life Stories” are from the Celebration of Life service for Kianna Collins for you to read, reflect, and pay your respects privately. It was an honor to learn about Kianna and to be entrusted to help her loved ones celebrate her beautiful life. Kianna’s aunt and uncle read The Giving Tree, her mom shared a touching message of love and faith, and many loved ones shared memories and brought plushies and mementos. It was a moving tribute to a phenomenal person. She will be dearly missed by many.

We are gathered here in such a meaningful location to celebrate the beautiful life of Kianna. This is where Kianna’s mother, Deana, went to school when Kianna was a baby. Deana said this is where they grew up together and that Kianna gave her the strength to learn and grow and succeed- an absolutely incredible daughter.

As we reflect on Kianna’s 31 years, it may feel like it all went by far too quickly. While no length of time with our loved ones will ever seem long enough, know that it was an absolute blessing to have had Kianna present on this earth for over 3 decades. Her time here was a precious gift. When your world is feeling a little too empty, may you fill it with gratitude that your time here overlapped with Kianna’s and that you were blessed to know her. May you find peace in all the ways you find her to still be a part of your present.

At the moment Kianna journeyed into the great beyond, she was happy, peaceful, playing her music, and smiling.

Maybe you can hear Kianna’s voice saying these words to you…

Think of me as one at rest, I am just at peace forever still,

And life goes on without me, as time forever will.

If your heart is heavy because I’ve gone away,

Dwell not long upon it my friend, for none of us can stay.

It matters not when time began, or if time will ever cease

For I was here, I used it all and now I am at peace.

And I think that is something to celebrate. Celebrate her beautiful life well-lived. May you know in your heart that her journey is complete. She is home now in the loving embrace of our Lord in heaven. She is reunited with the many loved ones she had been missing including her Granny Rosia and Great Grandmother Mary. She is surrounded by love.

Kianna was born on August 20th, 1994 to her loving parents Card and Deana. In 2002, she embraced the role of big sister to Baby C. Even as a child, Kianna had a remarkable gift for bringing people together. She cultivated friendships across races, cultures, and backgrounds. She changed lives with her kindness, acceptance, and genuine love for others. She was a passionate soul who shared her joy generously with everyone around her.

Kianna attended Troy University where she earned a degree in Journalism and Public Relations. Her vibrant spirit and creativity helped her thrive in storytelling, communication, and connection.

She was a faithful Seattle Kraken fan, and her enthusiasm for all things Kraken hockey was contagious. She was a devoted reader and loved immersing herself in books that carried her to new worlds and adventures. Her love for anime and K-pop brought her into communities filled with creativity, collaboration, and friendship. Kianna loved Comic Con and greatly enjoyed the time she spent working in the merchandising side of that industry.

Through her passions, she built enduring friendships with people the world over and formed bonds that transcended distance and culture. Not everyone can do that, but to Kianna it came naturally. She easily made those around her feel seen and valued. She carried a light that was unique and pure, and people were drawn to her. She had no idea how truly amazing she was.

Her middle name, Maiesha, means “life” in Swahili. Such a fitting name for this phenomenal woman who embraced life every day, who positively impacted the lives of those around her, and who cherished every breath of the gift of life. She lived a beautiful, impactful life fueled by passion and a deep love for her family and friends, and her light will live on.

We read in Chronicles: the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work. You have a path. Everything you need for your journey is already inside of you. Let the Lord lead you. You have been chosen for this moment. Be strong and do the work.

The tide recedes but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand. The sun goes down, but gentle warmth still lingers on the land. For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains. Kianna’s kindness, laughter, and love remain- and may they continue to guide you. May you find comfort and peace in the memories you made together. May her joy continue to fill your heart and give you the strength and courage to embrace life. May Kianna’s spirit rest in eternal peace knowing she is dearly loved.

Kianna will be forever loved and missed by her parents Card and Deana, her brother Cardenal, and many other dear family members and friends.

Kianna enjoyed Shel Silverstein poetry, and I’ll leave you with this final thought:

Although I cannot see your face as you flip these poems awhile

Somewhere from some far-off place

I hear you laughing and I smile.

Kianna, may you rest in eternal peace knowing you are dearly loved.

My sincere condolences and love, Holly
