Lockhart-Miller Wedding
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you for the first time and for always, as husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Miller!
The Japanese gardens at Stories of A Lifetime in Kenosha provided an intimate setting where the bride, groom, and witnesses were immersed in the beauty of nature and where the focus was all about the love. It was a lovely joy to unite this wonderful couple in marriage.

Today, in the presence of these witnesses, Wolfgang and Lara, are ready to be united as one family. Also sending their love and blessings to this union today are their fur babies, Gaia and Ares. They wish they could be here to celebrate with you.
When you look back at where this all began, as bartender and patron turned friends turned soul mates, it’s been a remarkable and beautiful journey to get to this- the moment that starts your forever- your wedding day!
Your love is wonderfully precious, and this poem touches upon this sentiment:
It is often said that it is love that makes the world go round. However, without doubt, it is friendship which keeps our spinning existence on an even keel. Wolfgang and Lara, there is nothing else that compares to the true friendship a husband and wife can form. With your self-graded A+ communication and the progression of your relationship over more than a decade, friendship is your strength. Rely on each other, trust in each other, and continue to do all those things that have made building your friendship fun and successful. Your singular roads have merged, and there is now solid ground that was always designed just for you two to walk side by side and journey onward together as each other’s one and only person.
As you are challenged by new things, as you endure the mundane, and as you bask in the highlights, always be gratefully aware of this incredible person at your side that is dedicated to adventuring through life with you.
And it really can’t be explained beyond what you both feel inside your hearts and souls- how drawn you are to each other, your indelible connection.
Albert Einstein said, “Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love. How on Earth can you explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as love? Put your hand on a stove for a minute and it seems like an hour. Sit with that special person for an hour and it seems like a minute. That’s relativity.”
As you journey through the adventure of life together, some bumps in the road may seem bigger than they really are, and some moments of exuberance may seem too fleeting; but may you always remember that a good marriage doesn’t just happen, it is created by two people over time. Cherish your time. Prioritize your time. Honor your time. And may your friendship and love grow stronger than the laws of physics could ever explain.

Vows
(Wolfgang) Who would have thought roughly 11 years ago when we first met that we’d be standing here today. It took a while for me to figure out you were even interested, but the best part that came from that is we got to know each other and even better, you knew what you were getting into. It’s amazing to find someone with whom I share so much in common and who complements me so perfectly.
8 years later, here we are. I’m extremely proud of everything you’ve accomplished in these years and I’m glad you’ve found your path and am happy to have been able to help along the way. I look forward to continuing to support your dreams and aspirations long into the future.
I promise to be who I’ve always been and, other than the inevitable “growing old” part, only change for the better. I promise to stay by your side, looking to the future, sharing all the amazing life experiences and building an amazing life together.

(Lara) Standing here today feels like the easiest, and most important, decision of my life. Nine years ago tomorrow, we celebrated our birthdays together for the first time. We weren’t a couple then, but looking back, it was the start of something extraordinary. Choosing to marry today, the day between our birthdays, feels like we’re coming full circle, like it was always meant to be.
You are, quite simply, my person. You’re the steady rhythm that matches my own, the calm in my chaos, the peace my mind seeks. You are my light of Earendil, a light for me in dark places, when all other lights have gone out.
But you’re not just my comfort; you’re also the one who nudges me past my comfort zone, into the great unknown. You challenge me, you push me, and with you, I feel more alive, I keep growing, and even the everyday feels like an adventure.
So, I make these promises: to keep laughing with you, endlessly, and to keep making obscure pop-culture references only we seem to understand. To be your rock and your sounding board. To support you in every dream, every ambition, and to help you find the same profound peace you give to me. To remain honest, and to navigate every challenge together, no matter how inconceivable. And most importantly, to love you fiercely and faithfully for all the days we’re given.
I think I’m quite ready for another adventure. Let’s have fun storming the castle for years to come.
