Berg-Baldino Wedding

Wedding Officiant

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you with love: Mr. and Mrs. Baldino!

Family and friends gathered at Upper East in downtown Kenosha to celebrate the love story of Nick and Susie. Love and joy were abundant in every special moment, from the early morning rehearsal to the heartfelt toasts to the packed dance floor. It was a lovely honor to get to know Nick and Susie and to unite them in marriage.

Enjoy a few excerpts from this lovely ceremony below.

Today, in the presence of these witnesses, Nick and Susie are ready to be united as one family. It makes me so happy to officiate this union. Also sharing in the love today are those gone before us, especially Susie’s dad and other family members. May we know in our hearts that they are watching over this union with joy. Additionally, sending their love today are the bride and groom’s dogs, Trixie and Athena, and bunny, George. They wish they could be here to celebrate with you.

Eight years ago, Nick and Susie met at a party. One year later, they enjoyed a special first date with lunch at Panera followed by shopping at Meier. Somewhere within the simplicity of daily life, grocery shopping, and dinners at Chilli’s, Nick and Susie fell in love. In 2023, Nick staged an epic proposal in a rose petal covered nook in the heart of the Chain O Lakes Forest Preserve. Easels and paint were set up for them to paint the scene, and they continued the romance with the fanciest of dinners at Culver’s.

Susie said, “Nick likes to push my buttons a bit, but I know I can always count on him to be supportive of me. He keeps me on my toes, and I love him for exactly who he is.”

Nick said, “Susie likes to sleep, and she’s goofy. She makes me laugh. She takes such good care of me. I trust her to always look out for me.”

This lovely couple has built a beautiful life together. A heartfelt statement that resonates with this couple goes like this:

“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”

Our beloved Winnie the Pooh spoke those emotion-filled words to his dear friend, Piglet. Nick and Susie, may you always remember the simplicity of your relationship. Time and circumstances can clutter our perspectives. Help each other to focus on the good between you and to focus on what really matters as you live out your days together. Remember that no matter what challenges arise, you both truly want nothing else than to be together.

May this thoughtful poem, full of wisdom and sincerity, guide you on your journey together:

I cannot promise never to be angry;

I cannot promise always to be kind.

You know what you’re taking on, my darling

It’s only at the start that love is blind.

And yet I’m still the one you want to be with

And you’re the one for me– of that I’m sure.

You’re my closest friend, my favourite person,

The lover and the home I’ve waited for.

I cannot promise that I will deserve you

From this day on. I hope to pass that test.

I love you, and I want to make you happy.

I promise I will do my very best.

Vows

(Susie) Nick, I take you as you are, loving who you are now and who you are yet to become.

I promise to appreciate you, to grow with you, and to be supportive of you.

I will cherish you always.

I will love you and have faith in your love for me,

through all our years together and all that life may bring us.

“Where does it all lead? What will become of us?

These were our young questions, and young answers were revealed.

It leads to each other. We become ourselves…

“What will happen to us?” I asked. “There will always be us,” he answered.

The love Nick and Susie share is a beautiful blessing. May their love grow and through strength, unity, and time be a blessing not only onto themselves but onto their families and the world around them. Lord, guide this couple to stay connected in any adversity and to treasure and protect their marriage. May we, as their family and friends, commit to uphold and encourage this couple to the best of our ability. May we express abundant thankfulness for this day, our friendships, our health, and our precious time. Please bless this reception and may it be a treasured experience that this couple holds in their hearts forever. Amen
